Real Madrid — founded 1902, the most decorated club in European soccer — is one of the most collected clubs in the world, and since 2023 its brightest card-market story has been Jude Bellingham. His move from Borussia Dortmund is the point his catalogue changes gear: new kit, new set families, new numbering, and a much larger print footprint. This page maps the Madrid era specifically — what exists, how it’s numbered, and how to buy it without paying rookie money for a club-era card.
First, the thing everyone gets wrong
There is no Real Madrid Bellingham rookie card. His rookie-era window is the 2020–21 season, in a Dortmund kit, and it closed years before he signed in Madrid. Every card below is a club-era issue.
That matters because the mislabel is common in listings, and it’s the single most expensive mistake a new Bellingham buyer can make. If you want the rookie side of his catalogue, start at the rookie-card guide and the rookie cards that matter, then read the Borussia Dortmund hub for the club where his card story actually began.
The two licence lanes
His Madrid cards split across two producers, and the split explains almost every confusion in the market:
- Topps runs the UEFA Champions League / UEFA Club Competitions programs. This is where he appears in a Madrid kit inside a European-competition set, in both paper and Chrome tiers. The Topps UEFA Champions League set review breaks down how the paper, Chrome and Finest tiers of that program relate.
- Panini runs the Donruss, Prizm and Select families, plus the FIFA licence. That’s where his La Liga-era base cards and the Club World Cup issues live — 2025-26 Panini Prizm FIFA #186, and 2025-26 Select La Liga Mezzanine #116 and Field Level #242 on the Select La Liga checklist. The Panini set-family map covers those lines, and the Donruss set review goes deeper on the value-tier flagship.
Two cards from the same season, both showing him in white, can therefore come from entirely unrelated checklists. Nothing about the photo tells you which — only the set name on the back does.
Verified Real Madrid–era card numbers
These are numbers we have confirmed against real listings of that exact card. Where a number isn’t verified, it isn’t here.
| Year | Set | Card # | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2023-24 | Panini Donruss | #120 | His Real Madrid Donruss base — the accessible entry point. Listing |
| 2023-24 | Topps Merlin UEFA | #105 | The revived Merlin brand in modern chromium form. Listing |
| 2024 | Topps UEFA Club Competitions | #22 | Paper flagship, Madrid kit. Listing |
| 2024-25 | Topps Chrome UEFA Club Competitions | #22 | The chrome counterpart — same number, different finish and year. Listing |
| 2025 | Panini Prizm FIFA Club World Cup (Prizmatic) | #24 | The Club World Cup release. Listing |
| 2025-26 | Topps Chrome UEFA Club Competitions | #64 | Renumbered for the new season — the #22 slot did not carry over. Listing |
The #22 → #22 → #64 sequence is the clearest lesson in the whole Madrid era. Two consecutive Topps UEFA programs put him at #22 — once on paper, once on chrome, in adjacent seasons — and then the next season renumbered him from scratch. Search a bare “Bellingham 22” and you will pull at least three different cards. The full cross-era reference, including his Dortmund and England numbers, is the card numbers by set checklist.
Parallels: same number, different card
Every parallel of the cards above carries the same card number as its base. A Refractor, a colored Prizm, a numbered /50 — all keep the base number; the finish and the serial stamp are what separate them. That’s why a card number alone never identifies a Madrid-era card.
The two chromium programs are where the ladder gets deep: Topps Chrome UEFA Club Competitions runs a Refractor rainbow, and Panini’s Prizm Club World Cup release runs the Prizm colour ladder. The parallels and refractors reference lays out how the ladders are structured and how to read a serial stamp against them.
Moment cards from the Madrid era
Alongside the flagship sets, both producers run print-to-order lines — Topps Now and Panini Instant — that commemorate a specific match and sell only during a short fixed window. The run isn’t a marketing decision; it’s whatever the demand turned out to be during that window, and once it closes the card never returns to print. Madrid debuts, Clásico goals and Champions League nights are exactly the moments these lines cover.
Because the window is short and the secondary market is the only market afterwards, these are the Madrid-era cards most worth watching on live listings rather than hunting in packs. The year-by-year timeline puts the Madrid chapters in order against the rest of his catalogue.
Autographs and the top of the Madrid market
Signed Madrid-era cards are nearly always their own subset, not base-checklist entries, so they carry a prefixed code rather than a plain number — which is why pairing a base number with “autograph” pulls the wrong card. The Bellingham autographs guide covers on-card versus sticker autos and how to verify one, and the autographs & top cards list splits the signed market by era and format with live listings for each.
Club and country
Bellingham has two parallel card universes. His Real Madrid and UEFA Champions League club issues are the ones on this page; his England national-team cards — the 2022 World Cup Panini Prizm family, Euro 2024, and print-to-order Topps Now England — are a separate market on a separate demand cycle. See the England national-team hub for the international side, and the 2022 World Cup Prizm set review for his most-searched England card.
Buying Madrid-era cards without guessing
- Fix the era first. Dortmund rookie, Madrid club, or England — three different markets with three different price behaviours. Don’t cross-shop them.
- Search year + set + number, never the number alone.
- Confirm on the card back in the listing photo: number and copyright year are both printed there.
- Filter to sold listings to see what actually trades rather than what sellers are asking.
- Buy graded for anything serious — a slab label states year, set, number and player, which is verification you don’t have to do yourself.
Before you submit a raw Madrid-era card yourself, check centering with the free card centering tool — it’s the most common grade-killer on chrome stock — then run the grading ROI calculator to see whether the graded premium is likely to cover the fee. The grading guide compares PSA, SGC and BGS for soccer.
